In order to be eligible for a reward, anonymous tipsters must contact Crime Stoppers of Columbia County first (our call center will contact Dispatch/911 if the call requires immediate action).  Law enforcement must confirm whether or not the information provided lead directly to an arrest, the recovery of stolen property or the recovery or seizure of any illegal drugs or narcotics.

Linville Curtis Homicide
February 15, 2021

On Thursday night, February 13, 2020 Detectives began a homicide investigation in the 300 block of SW Donovan Glenn in Columbia County.
Shortly after 7 PM, deputies were dispatched to a person shot call at the address. Once on scene, they located the victim deceased laying near a running vehicle. The victim Mr. Linville Curtis, 54 of Lake City had trauma to his upper body.
Detectives were called out and assumed the investigation.

Homicide
February 03, 2021

On Tuesday, February 2, 2021 shortly after 5:00pm, deputies responded to the intersection of SE Lochlynn Ter. and SE Putnam St. in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival, deputies located two 17 year olds who had been shot. EMS responded to the scene to render further medical aid. Unfortunately, one of the teens died as a result of his injuries. The deceased has been identified as Dionne Leslie (17 years of age), of Lake City. Next of kin notifications have been completed. The other shooting victim (also 17 years of age) is not being identified at this time, but does not have life-threatening injuries.
Detectives were also made aware of at least one ATV operating in the area around the time of the shooting. The public is asked to contact detectives at (386)758-1095 with any information regarding who was operating the ATV. Detectives are following up on other leads as well, and the investigation remains very active.
During this time it is understood that many citizens are afraid of making reports in person, so there is an anonymous way of reporting information. Details of the incident are as follows:

      On Tuesday , June 21st, 2016 at 10:10pm, Deputies with the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence in the 300 block of SW Tommy Lites Street in reference to a person who had been shot. 

The victim reported that he had been sleeping and was awoken to someone ringing his doorbell.  Upon answering the front door, the victim observed a white male, wearing a yellow safety vest, holding a box with Amazon tape wrapped around it.  The suspect then pulled a firearm and shot the victim multiple times.  The suspect fled the scene in an unknown vehicle, in an unknown direction.  The victim sustained wounds to his head and body, but survived. 

The male suspect was described as being in his 30's to 40's, a height of about 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall and approximately 160 pounds, with short hair. The suspect to this date has not been identified and the case is still open.

TD Bank Robbery
July 21, 2015

On July 17, 2015, the Lake City Police Department responded to the TD Bank located at 187 SW Baya Drive, Lake City, Florida in reference to an Armed Robbery.  An unknown suspect, armed with a handgun, entered the bank and demanded money from one of the tellers.

The suspect is described as a white male with dark hair, in his late 30`s to early 40`s, approximately 5`6"-5`9" tall and weighs between 150-200 pounds.

2008 Murder of Linda Raulerson
March 10, 2015

On July 22, 2008, Linda Raulerson was murdered while working at the Joy Food Store located at North US Highway 441 and I-10. 

      

The suspect is a black male, approximately 5` 10" to 6` 1".  The associated vehicle is a mid-90`s, white Buick LeSabre.

Theft Suspect Sought for Arrest
October 02, 2013

At approximately 12:00 pm on October 2, 2013, the Columbia County Sheriff`s Office responded to the Step In Food Mart, 4039 W. US Hwy 90, Lake City, in reference to a retail theft and criminal mischief case that had occurred inside the attached laundry mat.  Upon arrival, deputies observed that three commercial washing machines were damaged and that the majority of quarters had been stolen.  An arcade game and pinball machine had been broken into as well.

The suspect is a white male, approximately 45-50 years of age, and was last seen wearing a teal Florida State University shirt and a white Florida State hat.

Grand Theft
August 19, 2013

On Monday, August 19, 2013, between the hours of 7:00 am and 10:00 am, a 2004 Charcoal Grey Chevrolet Avalanche was disabled and parked northbound on County Road 25A, just south of Moore Road.  When the owner returned to his vehicle, the bed topper and several items were stolen.

Stop-N-Go/Exxon Robbery
December 16, 2012

On December 16, 2012, at approximately 8:30 am, the Stop-N-Go (Exxon) at 3974 South SR 47 was robbed at gunpoint.  A male subject entered the store armed with a handgun and demanded money from the clerk.  After receiving an undetermined amount of currency, the suspect fled the scene.  The suspect is described as a black male, 6` 0" and weighs approximately 165-170 pounds.  The suspect was wearing a light gray hooded sweatshirt, light gray sweat pants, black tennis shoes and a white t-shirt.  The suspect also had a black stocking cap on under the hood of the sweatshirt.
